Photo Name and Date Joiner – A Keepsake Card, Not an Official ID Photo
By the CSC Tool Hub editorial team · Last reviewed September 2026
CSC Tool Hub's Photo Name and Date Joiner adds a name, date and decorative border below your photo, creating a captioned keepsake card — entirely in your browser. We want to correct something important upfront: this is not a tool for official passport, visa or ID photos, even though that's a common assumption for a "photo + name + date" tool. Here's why, and what this tool is genuinely good for instead.
Important correction: Do not use this tool's output for passport, visa, PAN, Aadhaar or similar official photo submissions. Nearly all such systems require a plain photo with no text, caption or border on it — printing a name and date onto the image itself is a common rejection reason. For a genuine passport-style photo, use a dedicated Passport Photo Maker instead, which produces the plain, correctly-sized photo these systems expect.
Why This Tool's Output Isn't Accepted as an Official ID Photo
What official photo systems require
What this tool produces
Plain photo, no text or caption on the image
Photo with name and date printed below it
Exact pixel/mm dimensions per country (e.g. 35×45mm for India)
Fixed 400px-wide card regardless of input photo size
No decorative border around the photo
A visible border by design
Any one of these differences is enough for an application portal or passport counter to reject the photo. This tool intentionally keeps the caption and border, because they're the point of a keepsake card — just not appropriate for an official submission.
What This Tool Is Genuinely Good For
Family photo keepsakes — labeling old or special photos with a name and date before printing or archiving.
Event mementos — a captioned photo from a wedding, graduation, or birthday to share or print.
Simple name badges or table cards where a photo with a printed name/date is the whole point.
Social media captions — a quick labeled photo for sharing a milestone.
Personal record-keeping — dating a photo for your own reference (e.g., "before/after" photos).
How to Use This Tool
Upload a photo (JPG, PNG or GIF, under 5MB).
Enter a name and date (or any two lines of text).
Pick a font size, text color, and border style — choose text color for contrast against your photo (see tip below).
Generate and preview, then download as PNG.
Tip: For dark photos use white/light text; for light photos use black/dark text — the output is always on a white card background below the photo, so contrast there is usually not an issue, but pick a color that reads clearly at your chosen font size.

Common Mistakes
Using this for a passport/visa/ID application — will very likely be rejected due to the caption and border. Use a dedicated passport photo tool instead.
Expecting a specific mm/pixel output size — the card is always generated at a fixed 400px width regardless of your source photo's dimensions.
Choosing low-contrast text colors against the white card background (e.g. white text) — pick black or a saturated color for readability.
Anyone who wants a quick, personal photo keepsake with a name and date.
